Beginner's Guide
How To Make A Holistic Cocktail

The top questions I get when it comes to Holistic Cocktails is where to start and how to make a Holistic Cocktail.

I feel like these questions go pretty hand-in-hand when it comes to navigating this new found functional beverage.

When it comes to “Where/How do I start?”

The EASIEST way to begin is to find a recipe you want to try (I have over 100 listed here), get the ingredients (they are all listed in the recipe and everything is linked), and recreate it. Think about it like cookies… If you don’t know how to make a cookie, you’d look up a recipe, buy the ingredients, and recreate it. Same idea.

Plus, this gives you the opportunity to start building your Holistic Bar with ingredients that you’re going to start using. Some of my favorite recipes are drink One, Twenty3, Fifty3, and 1Hundred. All of these are super beginner friendly, taste amazing, and start to help you accumulate ingredients that you can use to make other (or even your own!) Holistic Cocktail. You can also search a specific ingredient and see if I have a recipe including it.

Now, the next big question is “How do I make a Holistic Cocktail?”

I break it down in 2 sections – functionality and flavor. A majority of my drink recipes have 3 main ingredients. A tincture to provide functionality, a shot to provide functionality and additional health benefits, and lastly a base for flavor (bonus if it add health benefits too)!

You can add some extras to your drink using non-alcoholic alternatives such as non-alc spirits, wines, brews, or cocktail mixers.

If you’re looking for something ready-made, look for a drink that has functional ingredients to give the effects you’re looking for. An example of this would be hemp or CBD sparkling water.

Whether your Holistic Bar is only 1 tincture or a whole bars worth, we all grow from somewhere. I started off with only the ingredients from drinks One and Two when I first started Holistic Cocktails. Over the span of a year, I’ve been able to grow my Holistic Bar (check it out here!). Even now, there are still things that I would like to continue to add and expand to. So don’t feel the need to rush! Give it time and it’ll get there.

If you’re in the market and ready to shop using my drink formula, you can find my all time favorite ingredients for each of these sections on my shop “The Goods” page.

If I were to suggest 2 products for the basic components, it would have to be these. Mind you, my favorites fluctuate but these have been either staples for me or are new found loves!
